Who doesn't love a light, easy-fit dress  with a sprinkle of blue, yellow and hot pink?

My goal in starting this travel-inspired clothing line really began with issues I had in my quest for easily packable outfits that I could just throw in a suitcase and go. Read: not terribly wrinkly and simple to accessorize! But at the same time, I also wanted to contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry, so that means using as many natural fabrics and dyes as possible and supporting local, ethical manufacturing. 

As a Tennessee native, I'd have never thought I'd end up making a clothing line in Cape Town, South Africa, but somehow life led me here to this amazing city with wonderful, hard-working people.

Travel and exploring new cultures has been my guiding light for about 15 years. We learn so much about other people when we see the world through their eyes, explore things we might never had done before or tasted food we couldn't have imagined trying. 

Mahlori is about fashion as an experience - through travel. When we travel, we want something that looks and feels good, something that's easy to wear with minimal accessories, that packs well and can still make a statement. That's why Mahlori will also be about what you can see, do and learn in certain cities and countries. 

This first mini collection is called La Dolce Vita, the "sweet life" in Italian. Follow our blog for content and travel tips all about Italy, especially Rome! We'll be sharing tips about off-the-beaten path restaurants, cooking experiences, cultural nights and more.
